About this leafy and shaded community
Expo City Dubai is the district created on the site of Expo 2020 Dubai. Dubai's Law No. (14) of 2022, issued on 7 July 2022, established a zone named Expo City Dubai and the Expo City Dubai Authority, a government-owned entity tasked with its management. The law set up a free zone and an administrative zone within Expo City, both managed by the Authority, and gave the Authority the power to allocate land for uses that include commercial, residential and educational. The National reported on 1 October 2022 that Expo City Dubai was officially launched as the repurposed Expo 2020 Dubai site, after the world's fair ended on 31 March 2022. Expo City Dubai's own website describes the district as leafy and shaded. Expo Village, which its operator places within Expo City Dubai, was originally developed by Dubai World Trade Centre for Expo 2020 Dubai and has been home to a residential community since Expo City Dubai reopened in 2022. The operator describes 2,273 apartments across four residential clusters, with studios and one, two and three bedroom apartments offered furnished or unfurnished, alongside serviced apartments for short or extended stays. According to the operator, each cluster has a private community deck with swimming pools, gyms and children's play pools and playgrounds, and the community has its own jogging track, open green spaces and an onsite community management office. The operator also offers home business packages that let a company obtain a DWTC Free Zone licence based on an Expo Village residential lease. Per the RTA station map retrieved 2026-09-22, the Dubai Metro Red Line has a station named EXPO 2020.
