About this urban enclave community
Jumeirah Garden City is a redevelopment in Al Satwa, Dubai. Dubai Holding Community Management, which manages the community, describes it as an urban enclave that blends residential, commercial and leisure spaces. The community manager lists shared facilities including kids' play areas, outdoor gyms, sports courts, basketball courts, tennis courts, padel courts, parks, mosques and football pitches. In September 2008, The National reported that demolition work had begun in the Satwa neighbourhood for Jumeirah Garden City, and that Meraas was behind the project. In September 2010, Gulf News described Meraas as the developer of Jumeirah Garden City and reported that, after the property market contracted in 2009, the company had moved away from fast track development and was adapting its master plan, designs and product mix. In June 2020, Gulf News reported that the Dubai Media Office had announced that Meraas would come under the umbrella of Dubai Holding. Dubai Holding's data-controller register lists Jumeirah Garden City under Dubai Holding Community Management LLC.
